Strategic IT Transition Leader

Job Description

Western Sydney University is seeking a strategic IT transition leader to drive the implementation of a new operating model across the ITDS portfolio. This role will lead governance reform, financial model redesign, workforce transformation, and process uplift.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing a transition roadmap for governance, financial structures, workforce models, and tooling.
  • Driving organisational change through structured frameworks, toolkits, and playbooks.
  • Leading process improvement, automation, and adoption of AI-enhanced practices.
  • Establishing performance and benefits realisation frameworks to monitor progress, risks, and value delivery.
  • Building strategic partnerships across ITDS, Finance, People, and Culture, and Strategy to align transformation outcomes.
  • Leading and supporting cross-functional teams, change leads, and process analysts to embed new ways of working.
  • Representing ITDS transition functions at executive forums, contributing to enterprise planning and digital maturity.

This role requires a strategic people-focused change leader with deep experience delivering complex operating model transformations. You should have a proven track record of leading large-scale organisational change, uplifting workforce capability, and embedding tools, processes, and governance structures that drive long-term impact.
