About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our food services team at BaptistCare Caloola Centre. Reporting to the Residential Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the commercial cooking operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality and safe food services to our residents.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial cookery, with at least 5 years of experience in a large catering or multi-outlet environment. You will also have a qualification in commercial cookery, such as a Certificate III in Proficiency, and demonstrated knowledge of HACCP, FSANZ, and NSW Food Authority standards and principles.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills, with the ability to lead and manage a team effectively. You will also have a sound knowledge of financial control, customer service, and staff development.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing menus that meet the dietary requirements of our residents
  • Ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation
  • Managing staff and resources to deliver safe and efficient food services
  • Monitoring and controlling food costs and inventory
  • Collaborating with the Residential Manager to achieve the goals and objectives of the centre
