Key Payroll Professional

A key role within our People & Culture team, the Senior Payroll Advisor will lead the delivery of accurate, compliant, and timely payroll to our 5,000+ team members nationally.

About the Role
  • You'll report to the National Payroll Manager, leading by example, providing guidance to our Payroll Officers, and ensuring our team members are paid correctly, on time, and in full compliance with Awards and legislation.
  • This is a part-time role at 30 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday. With 2 days in the office and 2 days at home, this is the perfect role for someone looking for flexibility.
Responsibilities
  1. End-to-end payroll processing (weekly and monthly) for all team members using HR3 and Kronos.
  2. Ensuring accurate Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation, liaising with Payroll Manager and HR.
  3. Investigating and resolving payroll-related employee queries in a timely and professional manner.
  4. Preparing and delivering ad hoc reports with accuracy and efficiency.
  5. Assisting with end-of-month processing, including reports and distribution.
  6. Maintaining and updating employee master file data in the payroll system.
  7. Handling external inquiries (e.g., Centrelink, auditors).
  8. Managing leave calculations (parental leave, long service leave, etc.).
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a senior payroll role, preferably in a large organisation, running payroll for large workforces (5000+).
  • Strong understanding of Fair Work compliance, award interpretation, enterprise agreements and payroll legislation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high-level proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with HR3 and Kronos (desirable but not essential).
  • A proactive approach and strong stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a coaching mindset — willing to support, guide, and lift those around you.
