The Role
We're seeking an experienced Hydrographic Surveyor to join our dynamic Hydrosurvey team at our Outer Harbor Facility. As a Hydrographic Surveyor, you'll be responsible for providing high-quality surveying and technical services, including coordinating and maintaining tidal networks in South Australia, liaising with the National Tidal Unit, and contributing to hydrographic, topographic, and engineering surveys.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake hydrographic, topographic, and engineering surveys, editing and processing survey data as required, and drafting plans and reports.
- Coordinate and maintain the tide gauge/weather station network, collecting tidal data and managing requests from external organisations and the public.
- Manage tide data going out to the National Tidal Unit and provide relevant data to stakeholders as needed.
- Provide support services for managing spatial and digital data, assist with mobilising plant and equipment, and conduct fieldwork, intrastate travel, and out-of-hours work.
- Operate a vessel as Coxswain as required and arrange diving activities when necessary.
Your Skills and Experience
- You hold an Associate Diploma in Surveying or an equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline (Level 2 Marine Surveyor) and are eligible for registration as a Hydrographic Surveyor with the Geospatial Council of Australia.
- You have tidal theory and practical field knowledge, proficiency in automatic recording surveying instruments, and experience working on complex projects requiring consultation, budget management, and resource allocation.
- You possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and are able to conduct research, analyse data, test equipment, and make recommendations.

Salary: $80,000-$120,000 per annum
