Job Description

Bethanie is a leading not-for-profit aged care provider in Western Australia. For nearly seven decades, they have empowered ageing Australians to lead meaningful lives by recognising the value of 'old age' and giving a voice to those who have seen it all.

We are currently seeking qualified Therapy Assistants to facilitate therapy and lifestyle programs for our residents at Eaton Aged Care Home. This facility provides 24-hour support for people with special care needs and dementia.

About You
  • A Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent) is required.
  • Previous experience as a Therapy Assistant, preferably in an aged care or healthcare environment, is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience working with residents with advanced dementia is essential.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for interacting with care recipients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently is necessary.
  • A willingness to uphold our Mission, Vision, and Values is expected.
The Role
  • You will implement therapy and lifestyle programs for individual residents and groups under the guidance of Physiotherapists or Occupational Therapists.
  • Activities will be adapted to residents' levels of function under the guidance of Physiotherapists or Occupational Therapists.
  • You will address physical and psychological needs and provide opportunities for meaningful engagement for residents.

Maintaining accurate documentation, both paper-based and computerised, is crucial.
