Position Overview

Our state-of-the-art facilities focus on recycling plastic materials locally, ensuring they are repurposed into new packaging and bottles instead of being discarded.

Role Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Electrician plays a crucial role in supporting the operational efficiency of our manufacturing equipment. This position is essential for addressing breakdowns, executing troubleshooting tasks, and implementing continuous improvement projects. The electrician will be part of a dedicated maintenance team operating around the clock, five days a week, with additional weekend support as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and make informed prioritization decisions as needed. Key tasks include:

  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults on specialized machinery.
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of the following systems:
    • PLC logic, SCADA, and I/O troubleshooting, particularly with Siemens equipment.
    • Safety control logic in compliance with Australian Safety Standards.
    • Extruders, automated bulk bagging machines, and optical sorting systems.
    • Electrical control maintenance for pneumatic and hydraulic systems, as well as conveying and sorting technologies.
    • Site services, including compressors, chillers, and boilers.
  • Collaborating with technicians and machine operators as required.
  • Participating in daily operational meetings.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Extensive experience in electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs within manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs and associated software, variable speed drives (VSDs), and human-machine interfaces (HMIs).
  • Familiarity with safety systems and standards, including Omron and Pilz.
  • A collaborative mindset with a proactive and positive attitude.
  • The ability to interpret electrical diagrams and P&IDs.
  • Experience in managing inventory for electrical spare parts.

  • A valid A Class Electrical License.
