Position Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Electrician plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of our manufacturing equipment. This position is part of a dedicated maintenance team that operates around the clock, providing essential support during night shifts and weekends as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and make informed decisions regarding prioritization of tasks. Critical functions include:

  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults on specialized machinery.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting various equipment, including:
    • PLC systems, SCADA interfaces, and I/O configurations, particularly Siemens.
    • Safety control systems in compliance with Australian Safety Standards.
    • Extruders, automated bulk bagging machines, and optical sorting technologies.
    • Electrical control systems for pneumatic and hydraulic operations, as well as conveying and sorting systems.
    • Site services, including compressors, chillers, and boilers.
  • Collaborating with technicians and machine operators as needed.
  • Participating in daily operational meetings.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Proficient electrical troubleshooting and maintenance experience on production lines.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs and associated software, variable speed drives, and human-machine interfaces.
  • Experience with safety systems and standards, including Omron and Pilz.
  • A collaborative mindset with a proactive and positive attitude.
  • The ability to interpret electrical diagrams and P&IDs.
  • Experience in managing stock levels of electrical spare parts.

Licensing Requirements

Applicants must hold a valid A Class Electrical license.
