Job Opportunity at Turner & Townsend

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Control Lead to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a Cost Control Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our projects by delivering against agreed program objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Tracking and Analysis: Track actual costs against budgeted figures and analyze variances to ensure project expenses are optimized.
  • Cost Reporting and Forecasting: Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and financial summaries for stakeholders to inform decision-making.
  • Cost Control Procedures: Develop and implement cost control procedures to monitor and manage project expenses, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Cost Control Systems: Understand and knowledge of cost control systems like EcoSys, Prism, and other relevant tools.
  • Project Budgeting: Establish and maintain project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with project managers and finance teams to optimize cost efficiency, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Project Performance Monitoring: Monitor and control project expenditures, ensuring adherence to approved budgets and compliance with project contract requirements.
  • Cost Estimation and Bid Support: Lead the preparation of cost estimates and support bid proposals to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and project contract requirements, including Earned Value Management (EVM) systems.
  • Project Data Analysis: Analyze project data to calculate EVM metrics and prepare reports to provide insights into project progress and performance.

Requirements:

  • Australian Citizenship: Must be an Australian Citizen and able to work in Adelaide.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience with a minimum of 5+ years working in a Cost Control/Project Controls role.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of Cost Control and Project Controls, experience working in the infrastructure (marine, shipyards, civil) and the Defence sector, and experience operating at various stages in the project lifecycle.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong stakeholder management skills, including coordination and communication, self-motivated team player with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
