Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain accurate budgets and cost trackers to drive project outcomes.
  • Ensure budget integrity and enforce rigorous implementation of project processes.
  • Support management decision making by conducting cost analyses on key cost drivers.
  • Analyze significant cost variances using Earned-Value and Cost Performance Index (CPI) methods.
  • Monitor site progress closely and analyze schedule performance to identify any challenges.
  • Lead the forecasting process on site and challenge operational teams and management through cost estimation and projections.
  • Provide early warning for key issues and escalate them if necessary.
  • Assist the commercial team in validating scope, budget, and claims assessment.
  • Ensure timely payments and proper invoice checks for subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Contribute to project reviews and prepare monthly reports.
  • Provide financial information in compliance with project policies, particularly for internal and external auditors.
  • Review project risks and opportunities and assist in developing appropriate mitigation measures.
Requirements
  • Degree in Management/Accounting & Finance
  • 2 years' experience in a Junior Cost Control/ Finance officer role
  • Advanced excel & accounting skills
  • Methodical, organised and meticulous with common sense
  • Strong Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to critique, recommend and implement, initiatives that seek efficiencies either from a process or systems perspective
