Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Property Development Strategist to lead the design and execution of a national property strategy that supports sustainable growth.

The successful candidate will translate business objectives into a forward-thinking network development plan covering new sites, refurbishments, relocations, and competitive defence.

This role requires strong partnership skills with senior leaders across Property, Finance, and Operations to ensure alignment with customer demand, brand strategy, and future market opportunities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a national property and network strategy aligned to commercial objectives.
  • Owning and evolving the 3–5 year network plan including store openings, closures, relocations, and refurbishments.
  • Utilising demographic, geospatial, and competitor data to identify growth opportunities and inform property decisions.
  • Overseeing the performance of the existing portfolio, identifying optimisation opportunities and market risks.
  • Setting and upholding clear investment criteria, site selection governance, and capital evaluation standards.
  • Leading the competitor defence strategy through land banking, site intelligence, and lease management.
  • Collaborating with internal partners to ensure pipeline readiness and project execution.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in property development, network planning, or retail expansion.
  • Demonstrated expertise in translating business strategy into network plans grounded in analytics and commercial acumen.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in geospatial analysis, forecasting, and scenario planning tools.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams across regions and functions.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Property, Commerce, Strategy, or a related discipline.
