Job Opportunity:

This is a 6-month non-ongoing role with possibility of extension. As a key member of our team, you will have the chance to work on challenging and diverse careers that align with your values.

About the Role:

  • You will be responsible for undertaking new, complex or critical public affairs work under routine supervision.
  • Preparing more complex materials for public relations or public communications activities is also a key part of this role.
  • You will edit the work of junior colleagues and develop and implement communication strategies for less complex public affairs activities.
  • Besides these responsibilities, you will advise internal stakeholders on communications approaches and strategies.
  • Brief external suppliers such as graphic designers, video production, web design and publication is another important duty.
  • Preparing submissions, briefs and correspondence will be your task as well.
  • Conduct research and analysis of issues relevant to the work area and evaluate the impact of communications strategies is crucial.
  • Liaising within the department and assisting in liaison with external stakeholders as appropriate is another responsibility.
  • Arranging and supporting meetings, events and working groups is also essential.
  • Finally, managing or assisting in managing a team including leading, developing, coaching and providing feedback to staff is a vital aspect of this role.

Requirements:

A cadetship or a relevant public affairs degree or diploma and/or 5 years' relevant work experience in a similar role are highly desirable qualifications.
