About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join Australian Retirement Trust as our General Manager - Performance and Governance.

This is a critical role responsible for enhancing relationships with ART's leaders, providing financial and commercial advice and insights, and driving performance monitoring, benefits realisation management, and governance excellence.

The successful candidate will be at the helm of crafting and launching a killer performance and governance framework, ensuring everything aligns perfectly with ART's grand vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Crafting and launching a performance and governance framework aligned with ART's grand vision
  • Providing stellar financial advice and insights that drive performance to new heights
  • Elevating the finance business partner function with strategic insights that make a difference
  • Overseeing procurement to smash commercial outcomes and tackle future challenges head-on
  • Monitoring performance scorecards and helping ART hit KPIs out of the park
  • Offering game-changing insights on strategic initiatives to the Exec Committee and Board
  • Managing strategic planning and budget processes, always pushing for improvement
  • Ensuring initiatives seamlessly match overarching goals and overseeing decision-making and governance like a pro
  • Overseeing benefit realisation and weaving it into economic strategy
  • Forging strategic alliances inside and outside ART to unlock market opportunities and execute business strategy
  • Staying ahead of market trends and policies, collaborating with experts to keep ART leading the pack
  • Creating a vibrant, collaborative culture that drives engagement and aligns with strategic objectives
  • Developing and executing risk strategies that fit ART's appetite and meet regulatory needs
About You

We are looking for a great communicator with top-notch interpersonal skills, who can pick up problems and come up with quick, creative solutions.

The ideal candidate will hold a tertiary degree or have a unique blend of education and financial know-how, especially in managing capital and reserves.

They should have a proven track record in strategic frameworks, engagement, or delivery roles, be politically and commercially savvy, and have a thorough understanding of the regulatory environment and compliance frameworks for superannuation in Australia.

A strong influencer who can build trust, instill confidence, and have the influence needed at executive and board levels to drive strategic outcomes throughout the organisation.

We are also looking for someone with experience in fostering a positive organisational culture, creating high-performing teams in a dynamic environment, being curious, and having a knack for foreseeing future trends and positioning the company for long-term success.

Ambitious and results-driven individual who has led and executed the creation and delivery of strategic plans in an M&A environment, with extensive experience with portfolio, program, and project delivery frameworks, governance, change management, and methodologies.

Analytical and financially skilled, able to evaluate opportunities and guide decision-making, culturally aware and sensitive, and able to work and communicate effectively and diplomatically across diverse cultural groups.

What We Offer

Australian Retirement Trust offers a permanent opportunity with an estimated annual salary of around $250,000 to $300,000, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including a supportive and inclusive work environment, professional development opportunities, and a competitive remuneration package.
