About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Intensive Family Preservation and Restoration program, you will play a vital role in helping families navigate complex challenges with empathy, respect, and care.

Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families. As a Family Support Specialist, you will work closely with families to understand their unique needs, build trust, and develop tailored support plans that promote safety, stability, and healing.

You will manage a full caseload aligned with program targets, building strong relationships with children, families, carers, and DCJ staff. Your expertise in assessment, counselling, and family support will enable you to conduct assessments and develop case plans using the Parents Under Pressure (PUP) framework.

Key Responsibilities:

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Community Services
  • Experience in child protection and case management
  • Strong understanding of OOHC and relevant legislation
  • Skills in assessment, counselling, and family support
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
