The Role

As the Recreational Activities Officer, you will be responsible for driving resident engagement and participation in a range of social, recreational, and cultural activities. You will also lead mental health and wellbeing programs that empower our residents' choices and independence. This permanent part-time position will cover 4 shifts weekly in the Care Home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organise, and lead activities that meet social and recreational needs while promoting independence and increasing quality of life.
  • Assess and document the effectiveness of programs, tracking residents' progress and making necessary changes.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a Cert III in Leisure and Lifestyle.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate is essential.
  • Previous experience within an aged or community care setting.
  • Highly developed organisation and time management skills.
  • The ability to solve problems independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes.
