Event Coordinator Role

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for delivering exceptional events. The Event Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting internal and external stakeholders, coordinating the delivery of Council's major event program, and managing all aspects of pre-production, production, and post-production requirements.

This role involves working closely with various teams to ensure the success of events, sourcing participants, and supervising staff, volunteers, and contractors at events. Additionally, the Event Coordinator will participate in post-event reviews and recommend improvements, as well as develop new events for the program on a one-off or ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support internal and external stakeholders for Council and local community events
  • Coordinate the delivery of Council's major event program and ancillary events
  • Manage all aspects of pre-production, production, and post-production requirements
  • Source appropriate participants for events
  • Supervise staff, volunteers, and contractors at events
  • Participate in post-event reviews and recommend improvements
  • Develop new events for the program on a one-off or ongoing basis
Requirements:
  • Degree in event management or equivalent industry experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of legislative requirements for community events
  • Experience in implementing risk management strategies for events
  • Ability to coordinate multiple major community events simultaneously
