Job Title: Public Health Policy Strategist

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of public health policies, programs, and procedures that drive positive change in Priority Populations. As a Principal Policy Officer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of public health in South Australia.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement innovative prevention, promotion, policy, and education approaches to develop universal and targeted prevention strategies and critical programs.
  • Provide expert advice and input to the development and implementation of public health policies, programs, procedures, and business plans aligned with the Preventive Health SA Act and priorities.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders across State Government, non-government sector, university sector, and private enterprises to facilitate stakeholder engagement and progress preventive health priorities.
  • Collaborate with State Government Departments, non-government organisations, Local Councils, and other health partners to support improved population health outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Public Health or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in policy development, stakeholder engagement, and project management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
