As a Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in providing advanced clinical leadership and expertise to our team.

The purpose of this role is to offer expert guidance and consultancy through sophisticated clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of infection prevention and control. You will be responsible for managing this service and working as both a clinical expert and manager for those within the team.

  • Provide an advanced level of autonomous infection prevention and control clinical and professional practice, representing the service at various internal and external forums.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate an Infection Prevention and Control Program for CHQ HHS.
  • Make advanced decisions in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Undertake operational leadership responsibilities.
  • Apply professional and clinical expertise in collaboration with nursing and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Enact strategies that promote a work-based culture supporting education, learning, research, and workforce development.
  • Lead a small team of Clinical Nurses and an Administration Officer, assuming operational and professional management responsibilities.
  • Provide paediatric infection prevention and control clinical expertise and representation at HHS, State, and National levels.
  • Participate in and manage Infection Program Service Improvement and Risk Reduction Projects and initiatives.
  • Engage in HHS strategic, clinical, and collaborative opportunities.
