Be a Friend to Someone in Need

We are seeking a kind-hearted and caring volunteer to provide regular visits to individuals who would greatly benefit from companionship.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys interacting with people from diverse backgrounds, particularly those who are isolated or have dementia. Our clients appreciate having regular visitors who can engage them in conversation, play games, or simply be present.

As a visitor, you will make a positive impact on our clients' lives by reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation. You will also gain valuable experience in communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, punctual, and possess good communication skills. They must also be comfortable visiting clients in their homes and engaging in conversations that promote mental stimulation and well-being.

Requirements:

  • 18 years or older
  • Volunteer police check arranged and paid for by the organization

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a 30-minute visit between 9am and 5pm Monday to Sunday; visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
