Senior Legal Director Role

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a senior legal professional in a commercial environment.

  • Purpose:
  • This role is to lead the APAC legal function, drive legal excellence and commercial strategy across APAC.
Main Responsibilities:

The Senior Legal Director will be responsible for leading the regional legal function, advising on complex commercial contracts, and partnering with Compliance to manage regulatory matters.

  • Leading the APAC legal team to deliver strategic goals and objectives.
  • Serving as trusted counsel to the regional executive team, supporting strategic growth initiatives and commercial decision-making.
  • Overseeing complex commercial contracts, IP/licensing, supplier agreements, and dispute resolution.
  • Supporting regional M&A activity in collaboration with the Corporate Development team.
  • Partnering with Compliance to manage regulatory matters, incident response, and legal risk across APAC jurisdictions.
Key Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Australian-qualified solicitor with a minimum of 10 years' PQE.
  • Strong commercial law expertise, ideally in technology/SaaS.
  • Proven record as a legal or functional team leader, preferably within a technology-focused or private equity-backed environment.
  • Experience working in an organisation going through change - transformation would be advantageous.
  • Background working in a global matrix structure would also be helpful.
  • International legal experience across APAC is highly regarded.
