Real-Time Energy Trader

We are seeking a skilled Spot Market Trader to play a key role in delivering value through real-time trading across our diverse portfolio of renewable and low-emission assets.

  • The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of operational power generation assets and fuel management, as well as the ability to interpret and work in a regulatory environment.
  • A strong analytical skillset, with the ability to use data to reinforce commercial decisions, is essential for this dynamic and fast-paced role.
  • The successful candidate will also be responsible for shaping how we optimise storage in response to market dynamics and supporting Queensland's energy transformation.

This exciting opportunity operates on a rotating 24/7 roster alongside other experienced traders and is based in Brisbane CBD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver value through real-time trading across our diverse portfolio of renewable and low-emission assets.
  • Work closely with the Spot Market Manager and reporting through to the General Manager of Energy Markets.
  • Contribute to trading strategies by providing analysis and insights.

Requirements:

  • Thorough understanding of operational power generation assets and fuel management.
  • Ability to interpret and work in a regulatory environment.
  • Strong analytical skillset, with the ability to use data to reinforce commercial decisions.
