This is a casual role within our community services department, requiring empathy and a commitment to supporting those with disabilities.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities, promoting independence, community participation and social interactions.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities according to their individualised NDIS plans.
- Assist clients with daily activities while promoting independence and community participation.
- Support clients in developing life skills, including personal care, household tasks and social interactions.
- Implement strategies to address challenging behaviours and promote positive outcomes for clients.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting on client progress and any incidents or concerns.
- Engage with clients in a respectful and person-centred manner to understand their needs and preferences.
- Deliver high-quality support services that align with the goals outlined in each client's NDIS plan.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, families and other service providers to ensure holistic care for clients.
- Empathy and compassion when working with individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
- Knowledge of NDIS plans and policies.
