About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support to individuals under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Dubbo.

This is a casual position within the Community Services department that requires compassion, empathy, and a commitment to enhancing the lives of those with disabilities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide Direct Support: Assist individuals with disabilities according to their individualised NDIS plans.
  2. Assist with Daily Activities: Help clients with daily tasks while promoting independence and community participation.
  3. Develop Life Skills: Support clients in developing life skills, including personal care, household tasks, and social interactions.
  4. Implement Strategies: Implement strategies to address challenging behaviours and promote positive outcomes for clients.
  5. Maintain Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation and reporting on client progress and any incidents or concerns.
  6. Engage with Clients: Engage with clients in a respectful and person-centred manner to understand their needs and preferences.
  7. Deliver Quality Services: Deliver high-quality support services that align with the goals outlined in each client's NDIS plan.
  8. Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, families, and other service providers to ensure holistic care for clients.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: Previous experience in providing support and care for individuals with disabilities.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its processes.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with people with disabilities, their families, and support networks.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.

Additional Requirements

  • Certification: Certification in First Aid.
  • Driver's Licence: Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred).
