Lead Clinical Excellence in Emergency Nursing

Monash Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Nurse Manager to lead our Adult and Paediatric Emergency Departments at Clayton. As a clinical leader, you will drive patient-centred care and excellence, working closely with the nursing and leadership team to achieve operational requirements and key performance indicators.

Department Overview

The Clayton Adult Emergency Department provides tertiary emergency services for adult patients across Southeast Melbourne and surrounding regional areas, with over 60,000 emergency department presentations annually. The department is responsible for tertiary level care for Neurosurgery and Stroke services, as well as a diverse range of specialist support services onsite.

The Clayton Paediatric Emergency Department provides tertiary emergency services for paediatric patients across Southeast Melbourne and surrounding regional areas, with over 40,000 emergency presentations annually. Once fully commissioned, it will host 38 treatment spaces, including three resuscitation cubicles, six isolation rooms, and a twelve bed Paediatric short stay unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical teams to deliver high-quality patient care and achieve operational requirements
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to drive key performance indicators and departmental goals
  • Provide mentorship and support to nurses, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical practices and research, applying evidence-based knowledge to improve patient care

Requirements

  • Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing or Leadership and Management (or working towards)
  • AHPRA Registration to practice Independently as a Registered Nurse
  • Demonstrated leadership and senior nursing experience within an Emergency Department
  • Associate Nurse Manager experience is highly regarded
