About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Professional to join our team as a Care and Support Specialist.

This position is responsible for providing High-Plus support for children and young people in Foster & Kinship Care within the local area.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Social Work, Human Services or a related discipline, and excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children and young people in care.

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure high-quality care and support for children and young people in out-of-home care with their carers/families.
  • To undertake intervention planning for children/young people and carers which is needs-based, trauma-sensitive, and relationship/attachment focused to assist them to reach their full potential.

Requirements

  • A 3- or 4-year tertiary qualification in Social Work, Human Services, or a related discipline.
  • Or relevant Diploma with relevant experience.
  • Or substantial experience in a similar role.

You must also be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the developmental needs of children and young people, the impacts of trauma, and the resulting emotional and behavioral issues.

In addition, you must hold a current Driver's Licence and a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and be able to obtain a positive Police Check and any other legislatively required personal history screening as required.
