Role Overview:

The Industrial Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations that support manufacturing activities at the Ferrero Lithgow Plant. This role demands strong leadership and technical expertise in inventory management, receiving, picking, packing, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of industrial supply chain operations.
  • Plan and coordinate warehouse activities, ensuring timely completion of receiving and picking tasks.
  • Evaluate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring sufficient transport and storage solutions are in place.
  • Organize transportation for finished products.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of in-transit goods for timely processing.
  • Guarantee that all stock is received, inspected for quality, and entered into SAP.
  • Collaborate with Production Operations to manage replenishment of packaging and raw materials.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Quality teams to ensure logistics needs are met.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for all ingredients and packaging materials.
  • Monitor incoming stock and promptly address any delivery issues with Procurement and Production Planning.
  • Keep SAP data updated and ensure proper storage and labeling of products.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts, initiating inventory adjustments as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with all departments regarding inventory status.
  • Uphold Ferrero's quality standards for warehousing and transportation.
  • Report any deviations from quality standards in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to identify products needing quality control measures.
  • Coordinate with Group Quality for audits and corrective action plans.
  • Identify and propose improvements for quality control processes within the warehouse.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing safety within the plant and warehouse.
  • Manage and mentor the logistics team.

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the FMCG supply chain, particularly logistics in industrial manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in warehouse management or manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with Australian logistics regulations and COR compliance.
  • APICS certification (or significant progress towards it), preferably CPIM.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including mentoring, problem-solving, and project management.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and prioritize effectively.
  • Proactive in identifying improvement opportunities and implementing necessary actions.
  • Experience with SAP and safety program management in an industrial setting.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications.
