Role Overview:

The Industrial Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations that support manufacturing activities at the Ferrero Lithgow Plant. This role demands strong leadership and technical expertise in inventory management, receiving, picking, packing, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire industrial supply chain operations.
  • Plan and coordinate warehouse activities, ensuring timely completion of all receiving and picking tasks.
  • Evaluate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring sufficient transport and storage solutions are in place.
  • Organize transportation for finished products.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of in-transit processes for goods receipt.
  • Guarantee that all stock is unloaded, quality-checked, and accurately recorded in SAP.
  • Collaborate with Production Operations to manage the replenishment of packaging and raw materials.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Quality teams to ensure logistics are adequately resourced for daily operations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for all ingredients and packaging materials.
  • Monitor incoming stock and promptly address any delivery delays with Procurement and Production Planning.
  • Ensure proper data management in SAP, including correct storage and labeling of products.
  • Conduct regular stock takes and cycle counts, initiating inventory adjustments as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with all departments regarding inventory issues.
  • Uphold Ferrero's quality standards for warehousing and transportation.
  • Report any deviations from quality standards in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to identify products needing quality restrictions.
  • Coordinate with Group Quality for audits and remediation strategies.
  • Identify and propose improvements for quality control within the warehouse, managing the CAPEX process in SAP.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing safety and quality within the plant and warehouse.
  • Manage and develop the warehouse team.

Candidate Profile:

  • University degree in Supply Chain Management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the FMCG supply chain, particularly logistics supporting industrial manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in leading warehouse operations or a background in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with logistics operations in the Australian market, including knowledge of COR regulations.
  • APICS certification (or significant progress towards it) is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong interpersonal abilities and sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including mentoring, problem-solving, and project management.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities, adept at balancing multiple priorities.
  • Proactive in identifying improvement opportunities and implementing necessary actions.
  • Experience with SAP and managing safety programs in an industrial setting.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications.
