Role Overview:

The Industrial Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations that support the manufacturing processes at the Ferrero Lithgow Plant. This position demands strong leadership and technical expertise in inventory management, receiving, picking, packing, storage of materials, quality assurance, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the industrial supply chain operations.
  • Plan warehouse activities and manage resources to ensure timely completion of all receiving and picking tasks.
  • Evaluate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring sufficient transport and storage capabilities.
  • Coordinate transport schedules for finished products.
  • Reconcile the in-transit process to guarantee prompt receipt of goods.
  • Ensure all stock is unloaded, quality-checked, and entered into SAP.
  • Collaborate with Production Operations to manage replenishment of packaging and raw materials.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Quality teams to ensure logistics are adequately resourced for daily operations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for all ingredients and packaging materials.
  • Monitor incoming stock for the plant and address delivery delays or issues with Procurement and Production Planning teams.
  • Update relevant data in SAP, ensuring proper storage and labeling of products.
  • Conduct stock audits and cycle counts as necessary, initiating approvals for inventory adjustments.
  • Communicate inventory-related matters across all departments.
  • Uphold Ferrero's quality standards for warehousing and transportation at all times.
  • Report any deviations from Ferrero's quality standards promptly.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to identify products that may require quality restrictions.
  • Coordinate with Group Quality for audits and remediation strategies.
  • Identify and propose enhancements to quality control processes within the warehouse, managing the CAPEX process in SAP.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving quality within the warehouse.
  • Drive safety enhancement projects in both the plant and warehouse environments.
  • Manage team performance and development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end supply chain for FMCG, particularly logistics operations supporting industrial manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in leading warehouse operations or a background in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with logistics operations in the Australian market, including knowledge of COR regulations.
  • APICS certification (or significant progress towards it) – preferably CPIM.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), along with high-level interpersonal skills and sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated abilities in team leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, and project management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Proactive in identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary actions.
  • Familiarity with SAP and experience managing safety programs in an industrial setting.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications.
