The role of Custody Operations Coordinator is pivotal in ensuring the seamless management of youths in custody across the State.

Working closely with the Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs Youth Justice Custody Team, you will be responsible for monitoring daily movements from Youth Detention Centres and watchhouses. This entails maintaining a strong and inclusive team culture committed to the development and growth of members across several disciplines.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with District Watchhouses to forecast availability and ensure capacity does not exceed build capacity and workforce capability.

- Develop and deliver timely and accurate transport schedules in line with demand commitments, training, equity, leave, and workplace health and safety requirements.

- Provide guidance on policy and procedure development relating to watchhouse capacity and transport capabilities, including leave management, establishment management, and employee entitlements.

- Facilitate and manage the transfer of remanded and sentenced prisoners across QPS watchhouses in consultation with District Watchhouses.

- Lead and direct State Custody Unit rostering staff by determining priorities and responding to operational issues.

- Foster key relationships and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
