Job Summary

The Director of Medical Services is responsible for leadership, administration and management of remote facility medical models of care. This role focuses on developing skills in medical management and understanding of strategic and operational coordination to ensure quality, safe patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: The Director of Medical Services works as a team member within the Office of the Executive Director of Medical Services at the Northwest Hospital and Health Service.
  • Administration: The role involves management of remote facility medical models of care, including College accreditation, recruitment and retention of rural generalist trainees.
  • Clinical Leadership: This position aims to develop skills in medical management and understanding of strategic and operational coordination.
Requirements
  • Current general registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA.
  • Specialist registration in another specialty is highly regarded.
  • Current RACMA Candidate or applicant for RACMA Fellowship Training Program (FTP).
  • Proof of qualifications and ongoing RACMA candidacy required prior to appointment.
  • Proof of vaccinations/immunity as per Queensland Health policy.

This is a training position accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA), subject to College guidelines.
