As a Motor Underwriter, you will be responsible for providing underwriting expertise in risk assessment, terms, conditions, and pricing for new business and renewal accounts. This role involves building and developing relationships with intermediaries to procure new account opportunities and strengthen renewal retentions.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertake thorough risk assessments to determine accurate premiums
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and clients
- Adhere to underwriting guidelines and standards as issued by our security partners
- Support the development of broker relationships for creating new account opportunities
- Contribute to the training and development of underwriters
- Build relationships with capacity providers to enhance business growth
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years motor underwriting experience, including heavy motor knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers, agents, and clients
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical, attention to detail, and decision-making skills
- Familiarity with Australian insurance regulations and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite – Excel, Word, Outlook
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
