Train Guard Job Opportunity

This is an exciting role within our rail safety and shiftwork permanent team at Sydney Trains.

As a Train Guard, you will participate in a paid, six-month intensive training program to develop the skills and capabilities needed to become a qualified Train Guard.

Key responsibilities include providing customer service, physical assistance, ensuring passengers safely board and alight trains, dispatching trains from platforms, maintaining onboard safety and communicating passenger service information via public announcements.

The path to becoming a Train Guard is dynamic and rewarding, requiring a long-term commitment and demanding training program. The role involves working varying shift start and finish times within a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week timetable.

To be successful in this role, you must be safety-conscious, resilient, and able to remain calm in challenging situations in a fast-paced, changing work environment.

Prior experience working in a safety-focused workplace is highly desirable.
