**About Kindergarten Program**

Staverton Kindergarten is a not-for-profit community kindergarten with a dedicated team of educators committed to excellence in early childhood education through safe, guided, and supported play.

The centre has 2 units with 4 groups of children attending on a 5-day fortnight basis. After Kindy Hours Care (AKHC) extends until 5:30 pm.

Job Overview

The AKHC Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the effective operation and management of the program in accordance with centre policies, standards, and directives from the Management Committee. The Coordinator reports to the Nominated Supervisor and works closely with 2 dedicated educators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement an educational program aligned with the national EYLF (Early Years Learning Framework) and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines.
  • Observe, plan for, and document children's learning experiences.
  • Support and collaborate with staff to maintain an efficient and organized learning environment.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with children, parents/caregivers, colleagues, and management.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A minimum 2-year qualification relevant to AKHC operations (e.g., Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care) and some experience in early childhood settings are essential.
  • A current Certificate in Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education & Care Setting – HLTAID004, or willingness to obtain before starting, is mandatory.
  • A current Blue Card (Paid Employee) is required.
  • Child protection training is advantageous.
  • Ability to commence with an induction as soon as possible is necessary.
