Your RoleApplications are invited from qualified educators for the position of Kindergarten Assistants to support Catholic Kindergartens in the Mackay Region. These casual positions are available for immediate start or as negotiated.
For suitable candidates, there is potential for term-time hours for the 2026 school year.
This position reports directly to the Kindergarten Director or appointed responsible person, with key relationships including children, families, and the Early Learning & Care Manager.
As a Kindergarten Assistant, you will support teachers and students by:
- Assisting with classroom activities, lesson preparation, and resource organization
- Providing support to students, including those with additional needs
- Monitoring student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as record-keeping and educational materials organization

Experience in similar roles or working with children is desirable but not essential. We value individuals committed to growth and learning.
A minimum of a Certificate III in Children's Services or equivalent (ACECQA approved) is required.

- Child Protection competencies or willingness to obtain:
- CHCPRT025—Identify and report children at risk
- CHCPRT001—Identify and respond to children at risk
- CHCPRT026—Support children's rights and safety
- CHCPRT002—Support children's rights and safety
- CHCECE057—Use collaborative practices for child protection
- First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Training (ACECQA approved)
- Ability to safely perform physical role requirements
- Complete the application form
