We are seeking an experienced Procurement and Contract Specialist to join our team at the APS5/6 level.

About the Role

The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day procurement and contract management processes in accordance with departmental and whole-of-government procurement policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage procurement activities, providing advice and support for basic to complex procurements.
  • Assist in preparing procurement approval documentation, including Approvals to Approach the Market, Evaluation Outcomes, and Approvals to commit funds and enter into Arrangements.
  • Administer tender documentation through AusTender and DTA.
  • Present a high level of customer service to internal clients and stakeholders, engaging Agency representatives and seeking feedback.
  • Establish and maintain strong business relationships with external stakeholders and suppliers, managing contract enquiries, issues, disputes, variations, risks, and undertaking negotiations as required.
  • Manage a range of contracts, maintaining relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • Monitor contracts and manage extension or renewal of contracts and contract close-out.
About You
  • You will have three to four years' experience working within Government Procurement.
  • You will have a thorough understanding of the PGPA Act for complex procurements.
  • You will have complex contract management experience, with knowledge of CCS.
  • You will have experience providing oversight of public sector procurement activities.
  • You will be able to undertake analysis of suppliers, markets, products, and service categories to inform procurement planning.
  • You will provide advice on 'best fit' security procurement approaches.
