Feedlot Manager Role

A key role within our livestock operations team, the Feedlot Manager will oversee all aspects of the feedlot operation, including planning, budgeting, staff allocations, and collaboration with agricultural specialists.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for stock management, a commitment to ongoing professional development, and experience with advanced technologies such as pasture and crop management, grazing management skills.

This position offers a unique opportunity for career advancement in a supportive and dynamic environment. You will work closely with third-party consultants, animal nutritionists, and senior management at head office, providing support to employees across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the feedlot operation, including planning, budgeting, and staff allocations
  • Collaborate with agricultural specialists, including third-party consultants and animal nutritionists
  • Implement effective stock health management and ration formulation strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with various stakeholders

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual who possesses the following attributes:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with stock management, preferably within the lamb feedlot sector
  • Ability to lead teams of varying sizes and foster a positive work culture
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Strong communication, reporting, organisational, problem-solving skills, and ability to prioritise
Requirements:
  • Relevant industry qualifications and experience
  • Previous experience managing a feedlot operation or similar livestock enterprise
  • Proficiency in pastoralism, agriculture, and stock husbandry practices
