About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead our project team in Brisbane. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and reviewing mechanical design work.

Your primary focus will be on producing high-quality drawings and documentation, as well as preparing design estimates for our projects. You will also coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review and approve drawings, calculations, and bid summaries.

To succeed in this role, you will need to solve complex technical issues and ensure that mechanical designs comply with all regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or administer work of Mechanical designers and drafters for a business line technology, including the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models, and construction drawings.
  • Develop designs for complete and complex Mechanical engineering systems and components used in mining, materials handling, and refining facilities with minimum supervision.
  • Prepare or assist with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations.
  • Monitor and check work for compliance with approved Mechanical design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation, and construction economy. Ensure Mechanical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Participate in constructability and model reviews.
  • Prepare design and drafting procedures to standardize design team efforts and processes.
  • Coordinate or make jobsite visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents.
  • Review Mechanical design scope changes, as required, for project management.
  • Endorse or prepare reports of work progress, as required, for project and discipline use.
About You
  • You hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or have 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
