We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer - Project Lead to join our Minerals team in Brisbane.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and producing design outputs that meet project requirements.

Key tasks include:

  • Interdisciplinary coordination of technical aspects of project design
  • Timely review of mechanical drawings to ensure compliance with design intent
  • Approving, guiding, and reviewing engineering designs, including calculations and design development
  • Developing technical documentation, including scopes of work and specifications, using relevant industry standards and guidelines
  • Liaising with the drafting team to prepare drawing deliverables
  • Approving and assisting with the delivery of accurate engineering lists, including equipment, lubrication, spares, valves, pipelines, and special items
  • Maximizing productivity and efficiency by planning, scheduling, and allocating resources to meet deliverables
  • Contributing to the professional development of engineers-in-training through mentoring and identifying areas for growth
  • Developing and contributing to improvement initiatives that support business priorities for continuous improvement

Requirements include:

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 15+ years postgraduate experience in mineral processing or related industries, with a focus on gold, base metals, or lithium
  • CP Eng and RPEQ qualifications (preferred)
  • Ability to effectively manage multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proficient understanding of business acumen, with the ability to adapt to different business environments
  • Intuitive leadership skills, with the ability to initiate, lead, and manage change in a complex environment
  • High attention to detail and exceptional knowledge of process optimization
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality service to clients within budget and time constraints
  • Will to travel outside Australia on an ad-hoc basis to support business operations

The estimated annual salary for this position is $140,000-$180,000 AUD, depending on experience.
