Job Description

The Senior Event Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective management of event sales operations. This critical role involves overseeing activities to maximise sales, coordinating room utilisation, and managing marketing efforts to ensure growth and financial success.

This position requires a hands-on leader who can thrive in dynamic environments and work seamlessly across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in venue-based events and proven leadership skills with experience managing high-performing teams.

Main Responsibilities
  • Drive event sales growth through proactive business development, marketing initiatives, and strong client relationship management.
  • Lead and mentor a team to deliver seamless, high-quality experiences across diverse events.
  • Oversee marketing, promotions, trade shows, and digital campaigns to maximise visibility and engagement.
  • Manage reporting and analysis of sales performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Strengthen partnerships with stakeholders, corporate clients, and the wedding sector, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Handle high-end event enquiries, site inspections, client liaison, and business sales leads.
  • Maintain operational systems and supplier relationships to support efficient sales and event delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Qualifications and training equivalent to an undergraduate degree in event management; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing high-performing teams
  • Strong sales ability and a track record of attracting and converting new business
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to perform under pressure
  • A client-focused approach, with a commitment to professionalism and service excellence
