Job Description:

The Senior Project Initiation Contract Manager will be responsible for supporting the initiation of research and associated projects, including reviewing and executing agreements, liaising with research legal, ensuring compliance with relevant university policies, and that pre-commencement requirements for the project activity have been met.

This role also involves maintaining relevant corporate records and preparing documentation regarding commencing activities to the Research Services Post-Award team.

Additionally, the Senior Project Initiation Contract Manager will foster strong relationships between internal clients and external organisations and raise awareness regarding university compliance requirements and contracting processes within the University research community.

This position plays a key role in engaging with Heads of School, Deans, Institute Managers and Directors, and other key research leaders, as well as supporting other research project administration activities as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and extensive experience in contracting research activities, including establishment of funding Arrangements and other associated agreements.
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare correspondence for internal and external audiences.
  • Demonstrated capacity to evaluate and interpret complex rules, policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated high level conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, plan actions and work well to tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery.
