Senior Contract Manager - Research Initiations

Role Overview:

We seek a senior contract manager to support the initiation of research projects. The ideal candidate will review and execute agreements, ensure compliance with university policies, and maintain accurate corporate records.

  • Proven track record in contracting research activities, including establishment of funding arrangements and associated agreements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively.
  • Capacity to evaluate and interpret complex rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong organisational skills, with ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.

About the Role:

The Senior Contract Manager will play a key role in promoting awareness of university compliance requirements and contracting processes within the research community. They will also support other research project administration activities as required, including Pre-Award functions and day-to-day management of research-related contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and execute research project agreements, ensuring compliance with relevant University policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date corporate records, including contract documentation and correspondence.
  • Liaise with internal clients and external organisations to facilitate the initiation of research projects.
  • Support other research project administration activities, including Pre-Award functions and day-to-day management of research-related contracts.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualification(s) in an appropriate field, with subsequent relevant experience.
  • Proven track record of success in contracting research activities, including establishment of funding arrangements and associated agreements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively.
  • Capacity to evaluate and interpret complex rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
