
Ecological Partnership Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and work with the community and stakeholders to deliver private land conservation outcomes.
We collaborate with the community to achieve sustainable outcomes, enhance our lifestyle, and create unique places and spaces that are special.
The role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders to preserve, manage, and enhance Council's diverse range of environmental assets in partnership with the community.
A key responsibility includes providing sound environmental advice, recommendations, and extension services to both internal and external customers.
The Environmental Operations branch plays a crucial role within Council, liaising with other units and the community to maintain and deliver high-quality environmental outcomes.
Conservation Officers work collaboratively to support and facilitate the environmental work of private landowners through various programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Understanding the ecology of the region, including flora and fauna identification skills, and knowledge of threatening processes and how to manage them.
- Proven project management and collaboration skills with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Providing professional environmental advice to Council Officers, Councillors, and the community.
- Implementing programs such as Land for Wildlife and associated incentives programs and member events.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated sound knowledge of natural ecosystems of the region, including flora and fauna identification skills. A good understanding of the threatening processes impacting biodiversity values and strategies needed to address them is also essential.
Strong communication and project management skills are key to delivering positive outcomes in partnership with a collaborative team and the community. The ability to negotiate on-ground outcomes with private landholders is crucial.
Appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
