Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Station Maintenance Lead to oversee the operation and maintenance of station power generation facilities, mobile plant, fuel farms, and mechanical workshop.

This role is a 12-month deployment at one of our Australian Antarctic stations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring all mechanical works are carried out safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining appropriate work site safety procedures and knowledge of work health and safety standards.
  • Diesel engine maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and overhaul.
  • Maintenance and repair of heavy plant, including tracked, wheeled, and stationary equipment.
  • Managing plant and equipment, and supervision of a mechanical trades team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Suitable mechanical trade, certificate III MEM or AUR qualification or recognised equivalent.
  • Forklift (High Risk) Licence or ability to attain prior to commencement.
  • Current, unrestricted "C" class (manual) Australian driver's licence.
Benefits
  • An annual base salary of $92,076 per annum.
  • Additional allowances totalling $63,437 per annum while working in Antarctica.
  • A generous employer superannuation contribution of up to 15.4%.
  • Accrual of recreation leave at the equivalent of 20 days per annum pro rata.
Eligibility
  • Australian citizen, Australian resident with work rights in Australia, or New Zealand citizen.
