Environmental Waste Technician

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the environment. As an Environmental Waste Technician, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing innovative ways to reduce waste and improve environmental efficiency.

  • Conduct audits and reporting for relevant waste legislation and regulations.
  • Provide advice and guidance to operational teams and other departments.
  • Manage internal initiatives to promote sustainability and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement waste management processes and procedures.

The role will involve working in a fast-paced environment, with no two days being the same. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of different waste streams, including sewage grit, sewage screenings, chemicals, and spent activated carbon.

As an Environmental Waste Technician, you will be required to hold a clean driving license and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Experience in waste management and recycling systems would be an advantage.

Key Requirements
  • Understanding and experience of waste and recycling management systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of waste legislation and policy in the UK.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes of practice and guidance documents applicable to the waste management industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
