Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a key player in maintaining high standards in environmental health and regulatory services.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Administering, investigating, and enforcing environmental, public health, and food safety standards within legislative frameworks.
  • Conducting inspections and audits of licensed premises to ensure compliance with Council's Local Laws and Policies.
  • Supporting the Compliance team with the implementation and enforcement of Local Laws and Policies as needed.
  • Assisting with the management of waste collection services, including contract reviews and performance evaluations of landfill operators.
  • Liaising with contractors to ensure smooth delivery of services and adherence to standards.
  • Providing detailed assessments of development approvals relevant to environmental health requirements.
  • Contributing to health promotion initiatives to enhance community awareness and well-being.
  • Preparing reports on environmental health matters, drafting correspondence, and handling administrative tasks.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, utilizing your strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and achieve desired outcomes.
