Your Role
  • Collaborate with CG and VFX Supervisors to devise effective solutions for CG challenges and finalize the visual style.
  • Design and implement lighting and aesthetics for computer-generated scenes and objects.
  • Assemble final CG scenes, including lighting and rendering for intricate shots.
  • Develop lighting configurations and enhance existing setups.
  • Optimize rendering processes to maximize render farm efficiency.
  • Adhere to project timelines while ensuring the highest quality of work.
  • Construct and maintain complex shading networks with user-friendly interfaces.
  • Work alongside texture and groom artists to achieve optimal results.
  • Provide mentorship to Junior Artists within the Lighting/Look Development team as needed.
Qualifications
  • Experience in Lighting and Rendering within a VFX context.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of modern shading models and PBR principles.
  • Prior experience in Look Development and Lighting tasks.
  • Strong understanding of the VFX pipeline, including modeling, animation, texturing, rendering, and compositing.
  • Proficiency in writing plug-ins, setting up sequences, debugging simulations, and shader development.
  • Ability to work independently to complete assigned shots.
  • Quick adaptability to new techniques and software.
  • Essential knowledge of Python; familiarity with Maya, Houdini, and Redshift is preferred.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to provide accurate task completion estimates.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of receiving feedback and direction.
  • Strong presentation skills during dailies and shot reviews.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to assist and mentor mid to junior-level artists.
  • In-depth understanding of real-world materials and energy conservation principles.
  • Deep knowledge of Physically Based Rendering and shader models.
