Job Overview

Mercer is seeking highly skilled candidates to join our team as an Operational Risk Governance Specialist. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong operational knowledge and experience in superannuation administration to contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver timely risk and controls analysis to enable the Administration Operations team to meet legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Support and advise the Administration Operations team in identifying, classifying, measuring, and monitoring risks and compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify potential risks associated with their day-to-day business goals, including assisting in the incident reporting process.
  • Work with stakeholders to analyze and quantify the impact of items requiring remediation while operating within our Risk and Compliance Frameworks.
  • Coordinate the formulation of remediation strategies and implementation of preventative controls, including obtaining relevant approvals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in superannuation administration or project management.
  • Extensive operational knowledge and experience within superannuation administration.
  • Previous experience on business-wide projects.
  • Previous experience in an operational risk management and/or compliance role.
  • Experience performing control assurance activities and managing incidents end-to-end.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory bodies and legal compliance requirements in the superannuation industry (e.g., Corps Act, SIS Act).
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
