Job Description

UGL New Energy is a rapidly growing national business unit that requires motivated and capable individuals to join their energy team. Their company has an in-house engineering and design capability, strong project delivery, and operations and maintenance expertise, positioning them well in the market.

  • They have target project opportunities including Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and Wind Projects, as well as Hydrogen and Ammonia projects.

The UGL New Energy Team seeks an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to support bid and project delivery of New Energy projects nationally, following environmental management systems to minimize environmental risks and maximize opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement management plans, procedures, and tools aligned with company systems.
  • Oversee daily environmental tasks based on project risk levels, ensuring smooth operations and compliance.
  • Provide technical advice and assist with securing environmental approvals during bids and project phases.
  • Promote environmental awareness and build capability across project teams through guidance and collaboration.
  • Coordinate monitoring and reporting, including sustainability metrics, site inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Engage with stakeholders such as project teams, subcontractors, and clients to maintain strong environmental standards.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in the construction or renewable energy sectors.
  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation and approval processes.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Proactively look to continuously improve performance, deliverables, and work efficiencies.
