Job Overview
The Regional Human Resources Manager for Cultivation and Operations plays a vital role in shaping the future of cannabis as a leading healthcare solution. This position is responsible for partnering with the leadership team to build and strategically support the organization, focusing on developing performance-related processes, engagement, and development routines across a dynamic and evolving footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with site and HR Leadership to plan and organize all activities
- Collaborate with site and HR Leadership on implementing employee policies and procedures
- Participate in onsite Cultivation and Operations Leadership staff meetings and HR required meetings as scheduled
- Direct the onsite teams on all performance management and ensure execution and compliance
- Collaborate with site and HR Leadership to define the Cultivation and Operations organizations strategy and goals; identify ways to support this strategy through talent management in partnership with the Learning and Development team
- Drive performance, engagement, and development of our HR Cultivation and Operations site teams
- Collaborate with HR peers in a joint effort to identify opportunities within our talent management programs/processes, partner with appropriate functional leaders across the HR team to address (Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning and Development)
- Collaborate with our HR peers to ensure we have the right compensation and benefits strategies in place to attract and retain talent
- Partner with HR peers on employee relations to identify and address trends, monitor employee concerns and address issues, conduct investigations and coach the team as needed
- Serve as the primary liaison between management and union representatives, facilitating positive and effective communication and collaboration on labor relations issues, including responding to grievances by investigating concerns, coordinating resolution efforts, and ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
- New Hire Orientation:
- Develop and implement a structured new hire orientation program tailored to the cultivation facility's operations and compliance requirements.
- Conduct engaging onboarding sessions covering company policies, safety protocols, and job-specific training for cultivation staff.
- Coordinate with department managers to ensure seamless integration of new employees into their roles.
- Facilitate completion of all required new hire documentation, including I-9 verification, tax forms, and benefits enrollment.
- Provide an overview of workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and security measures specific to the cultivation environment.
- Introduce new hires to company culture, values, and career development opportunities within the organization.
- Monitor new employee progress and provide ongoing support to ensure successful adaptation to the work environment.
- Maintain accurate records of orientation sessions and employee compliance with required training modules.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Train and lead direct report(s)
- Issue written & verbal instructions; examine for conformance to regulations and policy.
- May oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff including motivating staff (including hiring, firing & performance management).
- Assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
