Position Overview

This role is essential within a collaborative and enthusiastic team that engages with agricultural stakeholders and natural resource management organizations to facilitate ongoing ecological assessments in temperate woodland regions across Australia. The focus will also include enhancing outreach efforts with NRM personnel, Landcare networks, and farmers within the Sustainable Farms initiative.

We are seeking multiple candidates to strengthen our long-term ecological monitoring efforts.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a sincere and proven commitment to ecological research concerning wildlife and vegetation in temperate woodlands, along with a relevant academic background in ecological or conservation sciences and/or agriculture, complemented by practical field experience in similar ecosystems. A solid understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research techniques is essential, along with experience in conducting comprehensive flora and fauna surveys in temperate woodland environments (or applicable skills from other ecological systems).

The successful candidate must be prepared to travel outside standard hours and work in remote settings as necessary, including during intensive fieldwork periods lasting up to three weeks. Preferred work locations are flexible.
