We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Strategic Planning and Policy team as a Planning Policy Officer.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including greenfields broadacre future land studies, cross-border strategic planning, and implementing a new proposed outcomes-based planning system.

As a Planning Policy Officer, you will work in a multi-disciplinary environment to deliver short, medium, and long-term strategic planning and policy projects.

The ACT Government is committed to sustainable development, innovation in urban design, and urban policy, and welcomes new ideas to shape Canberra into a world-class city.

You will work with senior planners to deliver your projects to time and budget, and we are looking for someone who wants to broaden their experience in planning and take on new challenges.

Experience in urban planning, urban policy, or similar is highly desirable, and people with skills in project and program management, experience, and enthusiasm are also encouraged to apply.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent industry/professional experience in urban planning, urban policy, urban, and environmental management, or a related field.
  • Work experience in urban planning, planning policy, or a related field.
  • Project management skills and experience on complex projects.
